Passport
Entry Visa


This section is responsible for all consular affairs regarding the Sudanese community in Romania/Moldova as follows:

1. granting visas to Sudan for the Sudanese holding Romanian or Moldavian passports, their wives and children as well as visas for non - Sudanese
2. issuing new Sudanese passports .
3. renewing validity of Sudanese passports.
4. authentication of academic, commercial, legal and consular documents.
5. processing some certificates for Sudanese nationals to be presented to Romanian/Moldavian authorities in some cases.
6. issuing Birth Certificates for newly born babies to Sudanese fathers.
7. registering births and mortalities among the Sudanese community in Romania and Moldova.
8. collecting death certificates for the Sudanese national who died in Romania /Moldova.
9. issuing an emergency travel document to Sudanese national upon verification and on certain conditions.
10. keep records of the number of Sudanese community in Romania/Moldova and their addresses, in order to solve their problems and intervening to the Romanian/ Moldovan authorities if necessary.
11. organize social gatherings for the Sudanese Communities and their families.

Birth Certificate

1. For issuance of a Sudanese Birth Certificate by the Embassy, the child’s authenticated original and translated Birth Certificate as well as his parents’ Marriage Certificate and copy of their passports should be presented within maximum six months from the date of birth.

Fees : $14 ($10+$4)

2. For authentication of Birth Certificate, parents should also present their authenticated Marriage Certificate (in original) with a copy of their passports attached .

Fees : $24 ($20+$4)

3. For authentication of academic certificates they should bear the stamp and signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania /Moldova

Passport

General Rules

Application for a new passport is preferred to be submitted two months before expiry of the passport.
Upon receiving the new passport, the holder should check the name in English and the date of birth.

Requirements

1. A form should be filled in (two copies)
2. For students - an authentic certificate from an university showing the current student status or a valid student I.D. (photocopies are inadmissible)
3. Four colored photos
4. In case the passport is lost, original police report and copy of old passport and nationality certificate are required.
5. In case the passport expired, the applicant should attach it with the application.
6. Fees : non-student : $56 ($50+$6) student : $23 ($19+$4)

Renewal of Passport

Requirements

1. Applicant should fill in a form ( two copies).
2. For students - An authentic certificate from an university having current student status or valid ID.
3. Fees – non student = 25 + 4 = 29 USD; student = 10 + 4 = 14 USD.

Entry Visa

General Rules
1. Entry visas are granted to persons traveling to Sudan for official missions, tourism, work, business and those who have invitations from Sudanese institutions and firms.
2. Given a visa to Sudan, the stay period is one month. Extension, when necessary, can be done by the concerned authorities in Sudan.
3. Invitations to persons resident in Romania (companies – personal – unions, etc.) are only given visas when sent to the Embassy via Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sudan.
4. All entry visas are valid for single journey and valid for one month from the date of issue.

Requirements

1. Passport valid for at least six months from the date of application to visa.
2. Yellow fever, AIDS and other infectious diseases vaccination certificates are strongly recommended.
3. Applicant should fill in an application form.
4. Two passport-size photos.
5. For tourists - authentic documents from a travel agency should specify reservation and trip route or a bank statement showing financial capacity.
6. Getting visa may take one week. However if all necessary documents and requirements are completed, visa may be granted within 3 days.
7. Fees: USD 52 ( in lei , according to the BNR exchange rate of the day).

Transit Visa

Requirements

1. Passport valid for at least six months
2. Applicant should fill in a form (two copies)
3. Two passport – size photos
4. A visa to the country of destination granted
5. Confirmed reservation having the exact date of arrival to and departure from Sudan
6. No fees
